When the going gets tough, the tough gets going, as they say. And Taskin Ahmed, a strong believer of his process that led to his revival in the international circuit, steered Bangladesh to a historic ODI series victory against South Africa at their own backyard as the Tigers beat the Proteas by nine wickets in the final match of the three-match ODI series in Centurion today.

"Feeling happy and proud. This is the first time for me - getting the Player of the Series [award]," Taskin said with a wide smile after being adjudged the Player of the Match as well as the Player of the Series.

Following his return to the national team after three years, the right-arm quick pointed at his playing process, and on implementing the basics as well, which led to his latest feat.

"For the last one-and-half and two years, I have been following the same process. In every match, my captain always supports me, and gives me a clear role: to be fast and aggressive, and take wickets,"  Taskin said while adding that he still has a lot to learn about bowling in flat wickets.

"I enjoyed a lot [here], and from when we arrived. I have been working on my length. Just basics. I still have to learn how to get five wickets on a flat wicket," Taskin concluded.
