The month of Ramadan is known for the month of giving, spreading the joy of Eid all around. Organisations and NGO's bring their A game to support those who are in need. All kinds of volunteerism and charity work are taken up.
Volunteer for Bangladesh (VBD) with Jaago, a school for the underprivileged, is one of the most popular youth based organisation known in Bangladesh. This Eid they have overwhelmed everyone with their campaigns to make Eid a little more joyful for the underprivileged.
Jaago and VBD arranged their annual Iftar party where the Jaago school kids along with their well wishers and sponsors spent a fun filled evening together. VBD also organised a calligraphy festival for madrasa students all over the country. “We were stunned to see all this art done by little children,” says Korvi Rakshand founder of VBD and Jaago. “Calligraphy itself is an amazing form of art, which was on the verge of extinction in our country. That's why we thought of this festival where we will showcase their art through an exhibition at EMK centre,” he continues.
VBD has also spread their activities to other districts such as Chittagong, Rangpur, Bhola, Dinajpur, Noakhali and more. They have and will be organising festivals for local slum children in those districts, giving them all sorts of gifts, trying to make their Eid a bit better.
