Eid holidaymakers have stuck at Paturia ferry ghat in Manikganj as they are caught in a 20km long tailback due to heavy pressure of vehicles ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, to be celebrated tomorrow.
The government has asked factory owners to pay the due salaries and Eid festival bonus of the workers by July 25 ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha.
Employees of all public, private and autonomous offices have to stay at their workplace during the Eid-ul-Azha vacation and optional leave days.
There will be no Eid jamaat at Eidgah or open grounds this Eid-ul-Azha due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Instead, people have been asked to offer Eid prayers at nearby mosques, following health guidelines and special instructions.
Jamuna Future Park mall in Dhaka will remain closed until the Covid-19 situation improves in the country. Bashundhara City Shopping Complex, also, will not open before the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, despite the government allowing all markets to open from May 10.
