Among the six films released this Eid, “Daagi” marks the silver screen return of Afran Nisho after two years. Since its release on Eid day, the film has been running houseful in cineplexes, with steady audience presence in theatres—much to the delight of the actor and the entire production team.
Afran Nisho has once again captivated audiences—this time not on screen, but through a striking promotional appearance for his upcoming film “Daagi”. The popular actor was recently spotted in a prisoner’s uniform, numbered ‘786’, handcuffed and flanked by two men dressed as police officers, in a scene that instantly sparked buzz on social media.
Not too long ago, Tama Mirza impressed critics with her performance in Raihan Rafi’s web-series “Amalnama”, released on Chorki. Nowadays, the actress is busy promoting her upcoming Eid release “Daagi”, in which she stars alongside Afran Nisho in the lead role. This Shihab Shaheen directorial received its censor certificate last Monday.
Providing an insight into the film, he shared, “’Daagi’ is the story of Nishan and Jarin’s love and separation. At the same time, it is also a tale of regret and repentance for these two characters. From the teaser and romantic songs that have been released, I believe the audience has already sensed this.”
Meanwhile, on Thursday, the first song from “Daagi”, titled “Ektukhani Mon”, was released. The song has been performed by Tahsan Khan and Masha Islam, with lyrics by Sadat Hossain. The music composition and arrangement were done by Sajid Sarkar. The visuals of the song feature a romantic sequence between Nisho and Tama. Directed by Shihab Shaheen, “Daagi” also stars Sunerah Binte Kamal, Shahiduzzaman Selim, and others.
On Monday, the "Shurongo" actors Afran Nisho and Tama Mirza, director Raihan Rafi, Chorki CEO Redoan Rony and Alpha-i Managing Director Shahriar Shakil addressed several issues regarding the film, including the global release details.
