The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) commenced last Thursday with David Gordon Green's film “Nutcrackers” as the opening feature, starring Ben Stiller in the lead role. This year's festival is particularly noteworthy for our local film enthusiasts, as the Bangladeshi film “Saba” has been selected for the Discovery Program. Additionally, 23 other films have been included in this category.
The actress plays the titular role in "Saba", with Rokeya Prachy and Mostafa Monwar as additional cast members. The story and screenplay have been written by Trilora Khan and the director Maksud Hossain himself.
Working with Shankha Dasgupta for the first time was a delightful experience, as shared by Mehazabien. "I have watched Shankha da’s work before, and he is a brilliant storyteller. The entire team was quite cooperative, and it is really a good thing that none of the looks from the film were leaked before the official announcement."
