Samsung has recently confirmed that its next Unpacked event will be held on January 22, 2025, where it is expected to launch the highly anticipated Galaxy S25 series.

The event, which will be livestreamed on Samsung's website, comes a few days later than last year's, which debuted the Galaxy S24 on January 17, 2024. The event marks the start of Samsung's updated flagship release cycle, which has moved to a six-month schedule, as per a recent report by tech news platform TechCrunch.

After unveiling the Galaxy S series in January, Samsung typically follows up with its Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold foldables mid-year, suggests TechCrunch. Alongside the new Galaxy S25 series, Samsung is also expected to showcase enhancements to its 'Galaxy AI', a proprietary platform aiming to integrate generative AI into its smartphones, similar to offerings from Google and Apple, adds the report.

Leaked videos and images of the Galaxy S25 Ultra have already sparked interest, offering a glimpse of the device's new design. In November 2024, a video on Reddit, originally labelled as showing the Galaxy S24 Ultra, has been identified by the leaker 'Ice Universe' as showcasing the Galaxy S25 Ultra instead. The footage revealed a design shift with rounded corners, moving away from the sharper edges seen in previous models. This change aligns with earlier leaks and hints at Samsung's upcoming One UI 7 software, which is expected to bring a softer design to the user interface.
