It seemed to be just another day for the footballers of Saif Sporting Club. Celebrating their best-ever finish (3rd) in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) the day earlier, the footballers of the club came across one of the biggest confrontations in Bangladesh's football. The club have pulled out of all sorts of footballing activities from next season citing the disparity in their investments and returns from it.

"Everyone is still wondering what just happened!" Miraz Hossain, midfielder of Saif SC, told The Daily Star today. "Yesterday we had a party for our best finish in the Premier League, and today we hear the news," he stated while sharing the situation of the players.

"Players are talking with other clubs now and soon they might sign with them as well. I'm also in talks with some clubs. However, I haven't decided anything yet," the 21-year-old midfielder said.

Saif SC, the country's first club operated by a corporate business house, entered the Bangladesh professional football league in 2017 after becoming champions in the second-tier Bangladesh Championship League the previous year. They have also produced their best-ever result with a third-place finish in the recently-concluded professional football league.

When asked about his own thoughts on the situation, Miraz was somewhat at a loss for words.

" I actually don't know what to say. I am here since the beginning of the club, won the Championship and our team have always finished in top positions of the premier league table. I have had so many memories with the club. I think the authority will know better about the actual reason of their decision," he concluded.
