Bangladeshi killed in Saudi terror attack
A Bangladeshi man and a security official were killed in a terrorist attack at a security checkpoint in Buraidah of northcentral Saudi Arabia yesterday.
Identity of the Bangladeshi expatriate was not known immediately, Saudi Gazette reports quoting Saudi Press Agency.
Two terrorists were also killed in the attack.
An Interior Ministry security spokesman of the country said that a checkpoint on Buraidah-Tarafiyah Road in Buraidah, Al-Qassim Province, came under gunfire from three terrorists riding in a 2018 model Hyundai Elantra at 3:45pm, the news report said.
Security personnel at the checkpoint returned fire, resulting in the drive-by shooting.
The other deceased person was identified as Warrant Officer First Class Sulaiman Abdulaziz Al-Abdullateef.
Another person injured in the attack was taken to hospital, the Saudi Gazette report said.
The security authorities have begun investigations on the crime and any new developments would be announced, the spokesman added.
