2 groups of students clash at Sir Salimullah Medical College

Clashes erupted between two groups of Sir Salimullah Medical College in Dhaka students over establishing supremacy on the campus last night (April 12, 2022).

The clashes took place on the campus around 8 pm.

Following the clash, police raided three dormitories of the medical college, Jashim Uddin Mollah, deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police confirmed the matter to The Daily Star last night.

"With the permission of the medical college authorities, we carried out raids in three halls. We talked to the students and they assured us not to get involved in any more clashes," he said.

Additional police forces have been deployed on the campus to fend off any unwanted incident, he informed.

The situation is under control now, he said.
