No scope of any debate over dismissal of Khaleda's bail plea: Law Minister
There is no scope of any debate over the dismissal of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s bail petition in a graft case as the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court passed its order after scrutinising all related documents, Law Minister Anisul Huq said today.
BNP leaders are now giving fabricated statements to uphold their leadership, the minister said.
The minister mentioned that people still remember the misrule of BNP-Jamaat in the past. People don't want to go back to that period of BNP-Jamaat.
He was addressing a programme organised for laying foundation stone of Akhaura Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural centre in Akhaura of Brahmanbari.
The Appellate Division yesterday rejected Khaleda Zia’s petition for bail in the Zia Charitable Trust corruption case.
A six-member bench of the Appellate Division, led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, however, asked the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) authorities to provide the BNP chief with advanced treatment immediately.
Soon after the verdict, BNP said it was frustrated and aggrieved over the order and alleged Khaleda was being deprived of justice.
