Atlee broke all records at box office with "Jawan" as it surpassed Rs 735 crore globally in just nine days. The director's Bollywood debut proved to be a successful one and thus he has decided to make "Jawan 2" with Shah Rukh Khan again.

In an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, Atlee also expressed his desire to make a spin off on Vikram Rathore's character.

"Vikram Rathore, without a doubt. He is my hero and I hope to make a spin-off to that one day. I am a daddy's boy, so I love to write strong father characters," stated the filmmaker.

"Jawan" concludes with a promise for a sequel, as Azad and Vikram Rathore prepare for another mission, this time to battle corruption against the backdrop of the Swiss Bank.

When asked about "Jawan 2", Atlee said that there is hope for the sequel.

"Every film of mine has an open ending, but I have never considered doing a sequel to any of my films," said the filmmaker.

"However, if anything significant comes to mind for Jawan, I will write a sequel. I left an open ending so that I might write a sequel now or later. But I will surely make a Jawan sequel one day," concluded Atlee.

"Jawan" also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi alongside Shah Rukh Khan. The film tells the story of a father and son fighting corruption in India.
