‘30,000 documents missing from server’: HC seeks Rajuk explanation
The High Court today sought explanation from Rajuk about the reported incident of missing of around 30,000 documents from its server.
The court ordered Rajuk chairman to submit a report within 30 days on whether the incident is authentic, and if it is true then what steps have been taken in this regard, Anti-Corruption Commission lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan told The Daily Star.
The HC bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Khizir Hayat Lizu passed the order on a suomuto (voluntary) move following a report published on Bangla daily Prothom Alo.
Senior lawyer Khurshid Alam placed the news report before the HC bench for necessary order.
Deputy Attorney General AKM Amin Uddin Manik represented the state during the court proceedings.
According to the report, around 30,000 clients' documents seeking permission for construction of buildings have reportedly been missing from the server of Rajuk.
The Rajuk authorities came to know about the incident on December 6 last year.
