Body found in Goran manhole identified
Police today confirmed the identity of the woman who’s decomposed body was discovered yesterday from a manhole at Dhaka’s North Goran area.
The body belonged to Parveen Akhter, 35, hailing from Munshiganj sadar, our staff correspondent reports quoting police sources.
Son of the woman, Parvej, and daughter Mukta identified the body at Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital morgue, Moshiure Rahman, officer in-charge of Khilgaon Police Station, told The Daily Star.
Parveen, who used to live in Jatrabari area’s Matoail used to sell clothes. She went missing from Kakrail area early Thursday, the OC said.
Police are looking for the man who was last seen with Parveen.
On information of locals, a police team recovered Parveen’s body from a manhole yesterday and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for autopsy.
