Mushfiqur's fastest century helps Tigers post record ODI total
Mushfiqur Rahim starred with the fastest century by a Bangladesh batter as he helped the Tigers record their highest-ever ODI total of 349 for six in the second ODI of the three-match series against Ireland at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Monday.
This is Bangladesh's highest-ever ODI total.
Mushfiqur, who reached his hundred in 60 balls, smashed 14 fours and two sixes for his unbeaten 100, and put together a 128–run stand with Hridoy after Najmul Hossain Shanto brought up his third ODI fifty.
Previously, Shakib Al Hasan held the record when he notched up his century in 63 balls against Zimbabwe in 2009.
Hridoy missed out on registering consecutive fifties as he was castled by Mark Adair when he was on 49 runs off 34 deliveries.
Prior to that, Shanto notched up his third ODI fifty before he nicked one down the leg side off the bowling off of Graham Hume. The left-handed batter hit three fours and two sixes for his 77-ball 73.
