'Shurongo' paves way for Afran Nisho’s promising film career

"This is my first film, but I have acted for two decades. My entire career has led towards this debut," said Afran Nisho to The Daily Star, just a day before his momentous debut in films.

Long before its release, "Shurongo" raised expectations of people primarily due to Nisho's presence, and Raihan Rafi's stellar track record.

People flocked to see their favourite television star on the big screen.

Nisho's long-awaited silver screen appearance didn't disappoint his fans, who have been eagerly waiting to watch him where he arguably belongs. Despite heavy rain, most shows in multiplexes went houseful. Due to the skyrocketing demand of the audience, "Shurongo" made an all-time record at Star Cineplex, having 33 shows every day.

It is expected that the film will have more halls on the second day.

There was debate amongst people regarding whether "Shurongo" could do well in cinema halls. After all, the transition of television stars to the big screen doesn't always go smoothly. In just four days of its release, the equation declared the scenario that people welcomed him with all their hearts.

Although over the last two decades, there were many small screen stars who came to films, but failed to make any difference in their film career. Chanchal Chowdhury is one exception, who became synonymous with hit movies.

Nisho's journey seems to prelude to another such event. Moreover, a film's commercial success can be judged after one month of its release. The way fans are showering their love, is showing a positive sign that "Shurongo" will be tagged as a commercially hit movie.

Tama Mirza played Moyna, alongside Nisho as Masud in the film. Their chemistry spellbound the audience to the extent that they are being called by their characters' name already.

Raihan Rafi told The Daily Star that all of the tickets for the next four days are already sold out. "This is extremely great news for us, and the Bangladeshi film industry. Our cinema is growing," said Rafi. He also informed that not just multiplexes, "Shurongo" is going houseful in the single screens outside Dhaka as well. 

Nisho and Tama are also excited with the news. They are grateful to the audience for showing this support and loving their work.

"Shurongo" will be making waves outside the country too. It will be released in the USA, Canada, India, Australia, and the Middle East very soon. 

Rafi shared that on July 7 "Shurongo" will be released in 6 cities of Australia, while on July 21 in Canada and New York and on July 28 in the USA.
