The inauguration of "Anonymous-3" took place at Kala Kendra, Lalmatia on July 7, 2023. This exhibition is all about breaking preconceived opinions about art and artists. It is also a continuation of "Anonymous-1" in 2021, and "Anonymous-2" in 2022.

The question we ask ourselves forever is –how do we evaluate art? Very often, our prejudice makes us assess an artwork depending on an artist's experience, age, gender, or simply grandeur. So why not take a blindfolded leap into the world of "Anonymous" where artworks are not displayed with the names of artists? The idea behind this was to break the hierarchy among artists.

"Anonymous-3" features 206 artworks from 103 artists of Bangladesh and India combined. There are paintings, photographs, photo manipulation, stitching, etchings, prints, carvings, sculptures, charcoal works and several other mediums through which the artists have proven their mastery. There are concept arts, abstract expressionism, realistic art, surrealistic pieces, and many other forms of expressions. The entire gallery bears testament to the versatility of Bangladeshi and Indian artists.

The first room contains several pieces of birds and other natural elements with abstract expressionism. There are also some that reflects social issues like the sexual objectification of women and radical religious imposing. Some of the photographs and paintings have beautiful textures on their surface, along with their eye-soothing hues. The innermost corridor is dedicated entirely for paintings of boats.

The adorably beautiful blue sculpture along with two more intriguing sculptures are in the smallest room of the gallery. There are a good number of paintings featuring women and femininity in different forms. Moreover, the eastern room holds some of the loveliest paintings of flowers I have seen. There are two pieces with birds and trees done by cutwork and embroidery that left me bewitched.

"Anonymous-3" features artists from both academic and non-academic backgrounds, self-taught artists, occasional artists, photographers, architects from diverse communities.

This open-for-all exhibition will run at Kala Kendra till July 24, 2023.
