Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hassan Papon said he has seen a noticeable change in Shakib Al Hasan towards his dedication towards cricket.

Speaking to reporters at his residence on Friday, where the BCB boss announced Shakib as the ODI captain for the upcoming Asia Cup and the World Cup, Papon said nobody is more serious about cricket than Shakib .

"There's no doubt about his potential. One thing I feel very good about, in recent times... watching over the last one year... is that I had doubts about Shakib, It's my personal opinion, as to how serious he is and what game he will play or not play ... Now I see there is no-one more serious than him, about cricket," Papon said.

He said that Shakib has played in Zim Afro T20 and now playing in Lanka Premier League, all with the purpose of doing well in the two big events.

"The amount of games we have, he is playing continuously all of those. He went to Canada, now back to Sri Lanka. Now that he has got the captaincy in the World Cup, I think he is now totally focused on cricket. It's a big deal for us. There is never any doubt about his ability," the BCB boss retorted.
