Chetri nets from the spot as India beat Bangladesh in Asian Games
India striker Sunil Chetri converted from the spot in the 85th minutes as India beat Bangladesh 1-0 in their second group A match of the Hangzhou Asian Games on Thursday.
After suffering a 5-1 thrashing at the hands of hosts China in their opening fixture, India got back to winning ways but had to work hard to edge a resilient Bangladesh side.
Back-to-back losses for the men in red and green have almost left them out of the tournament but they still have a glimmer of hope for qualification but a daunting task in facing China in their last group-stage fixture awaits. A victory against the hosts will keep Bangladesh in contention for qualification through best third-place finishers spots.
