"Prabir Mitra was an extraordinary artiste," Tariq Anam Khan shared in a heartfelt conversation with The Daily Star, recalling his early admiration for the veteran actor. "As a young man, I was deeply inspired by his performances. I still remember going to the theatre to watch his films. His work had a certain magic to it—his presence on screen was unforgettable, and even now, his acting resonates with me."

The actor didn't just admire Prabir Mitra from a distance. The two actors had worked together on several occasions, though the exact names of the projects escape him. "We crossed paths many times at FDC, and outside of it too," he said. "His smile was something you could never forget—always warm, always genuine. Even now, I close my eyes and I can see that smile clearly."

Mitra's influence extended beyond the screen. Known for his impeccable manners and kind-hearted nature, he left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. "He was, without a doubt, one of the finest gentlemen I've ever met," said Tariq Anam Khan. "His humility was known to all— including his colleagues and the younger generation. I've rarely encountered someone as dignified as Prabir Mitra."

But it wasn't just his demeanor that stood out. Prabir Mitra's dedication to his craft was unmatched. The national award-winning actor noted, "An actor of his caliber doesn't come around often. It's not easy to sum up just how great he was. We've lost someone truly irreplaceable."

As he spoke, it was clear that Prabir Mitra wasn't just another actor to him. He was a role model, both in his artistry and his humanity. "Prabir da never got angry, never held grudges," Khan remembered fondly. "He had this incredible ability to win everyone over with his kindness. "He was unwell in his final days, and it's sad to see how, as actors age, they are often forgotten. It's heartbreaking that their contributions go unnoticed, and perhaps Prabir Da left us with that sorrow in his heart."

As Tariq Anam Khan concluded, his tone was solemn yet full of reverence. "We've lost not just a great actor, but a mentor, a friend, and a man who exemplified everything we should strive to be. I will pray for him wholeheartedly. Prabir Mitra was one of a kind, and we will miss him dearly."
