BFF to hold U-17 team training camp in Jashore

The development committee of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has decided to hold the training camp of the Bangladesh Under-17 Men's football team in Jashore instead of Dhaka ahead of their upcoming SAFF and AFC age-group tournaments.

An artificial turf is currently being installed at the Birshrestha Shaheed Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Dhaka and because of the renovation work, the dormitory at the venue is not usable at the moment.

Hence, BFF vice president and development committee chairman Nasser Shahrear Zahedee disclosed that the camp will be held in Jashore during the logo unveiling and grouping ceremony of the UCB BFF U-15 Football League at the BFF House yesterday.

"The development committee has decided to hold the training camp of the Bangladesh U-17 men's team at Jashore's Shams Ul Huda Academy as part of their preparation for the upcoming SAFF U-17 Championship and AFC U-17 Asian Cup Qualifiers," Zahedee told the reporters after the logo unveiling and grouping ceremony of the U-15 tournament, which is part of the country-wide Youth Festival.

"From Nilphamari to Cox's Bazar, we will take help from private academies from all across the country for youth development," said Zahedee, who is also chairman of the Shams Ul Huda Academy.

Golam Rabbani Choton, who was recently appointed as head of youth development and Elite Academy, will conduct the training in Jashore. The training camp is likely to start in March.

Meanwhile, UCB BFF U-15 Football Tournament, where all 64 districts will compete divided into 11 zones, will get underway from Sylhet zone on January 25. The 11 zonal champions will join BSKP in the 12-team final round to be held in Noakhali.
