BPL returns to Gopalganj
The Bangladesh Premier League returns to Gopalganj after two seasons as the 18th round of the top-tier league gets underway today at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium.
Gopalganj hosted eight matches of the 6th Bangladesh Premier League when Muktijoddha Sangsad had chosen the district as their home venue in 2013. However, Gopalganj did not host any matches of the professional league since due to either not being selected by any team as home venue or the game's governing body's disapproval for the ground's unpreparedness.
This time, though, six matches of the league will take place with all 12 participating teams travelling play there. Six matchdays will feature six days.
Bottom-side Uttar Baridhara Club will take on ninth-placed Team BJMC in today's fixture. The most attractive fixture of this venue will take place between the country's two traditional rivals -- Abahani and Mohammedan -- on December 6.
