Youths go down fighting
A goal in the fourth minute of extra time saw Uzbekistan U19 side defeat Bangladesh U19 by 1-0 in the AFC U-19 Championships qualifiers.
Mohammad Atikuzzaman of Bangladesh unfortunately put the ball into his own net in the dying minutes. However it was another gutsy performance from the Bangladesh U19 side.
Uzbekistan U19 enjoyed the lion’s share of possession and had 14 corners to show for it. They were able to retain possession in the Bangladesh half and it finally paid dividends as they scraped a win in the death minutes.
There was not much time left for Bangladesh U19 to get a goal back after the restart. Bangladesh are in third position in the group with four points. Bangladesh U19 earlier drew their first match 0-0 against Tajikistan and won their second game against Maldives 1-0. The Bangladesh U 19 side play their last group against Sri Lanka on November.
Uzbekistan U19 sit at the top of the group with three wins.
