US-Bangla Airlines makes maiden flight on Sylhet-Muscat route
The US-Bangla Airlines tonight operated its maiden flight on the Sylhet-Muscat route.
"Carrying 80 passengers, the flight BS-327 of Boeing 737-800 took off from Sylhet Osmani International Airport for Muscat around 8:45pm," Kamrul Islam, spokesperson of the airlines, told The Daily Star.
This is the first time that any Bangladeshi airlines is going to be operating direct flights to Muscat from Sylhet.
The flights were announced earlier on November 11.
One of the leading private air operators of the country with 13 aircraft in its fleet, US-Bangla Airlines will operate two flights a week on the Sylhet-Muscat-Sylhet route, the airlines said in a release.
The flight will leave from Sylhet MAG Osmani International Airport at 7:30pm every Tuesday and Friday, and will land in Muscat at 10:30pm local time.
The return flight from Muscat will fly every Tuesday and Friday at 11:30pm local time and will land in Sylhet at 7:15am the next day.
At present, US-Bangla Airlines is operating two weekly flights -- on Monday and Thursday to Muscat from Dhaka, and two weekly flights on Wednesday and Sunday from Chattogram to the same destination.
The US-Bangla flight leaves Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka for Muscat at 10:00pm on Monday and Thursday and lands at Muscat at 1:00am local time on Tuesdays and Fridays.
