Inflation eases slightly in April

Inflation edged down slightly in Bangladesh in April, offering a modest reprieve for consumers grappling with sustained price pressures.
According to the latest data from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics, the general inflation rate stood at 9.17 percent in April, down from 9.35 percent in March.
Both food and non-food inflation saw marginal declines during the month.
Food inflation fell to 8.63 percent in April from 8.93 percent a month earlier, indicating some easing in the cost of essentials.
Non-food inflation also dropped slightly, to 9.61 percent from 9.70 percent in March.
