MP Rana sent to jail from hospital
Tangail’s Awami League lawmaker Amanur Rahman Khan Rana, the main accused of freedom fighter Faruk Ahmed murder case, was sent to jail from Dhaka Medical College Hospital today.
The doctors at Dhaka Medical College Hospital issued release letter to Amanur today, a jail official told The Daily Star. Later, a team from Dhaka Central Jail took him to the jail in Keraniganj in the afternoon, he added.

“I have discussed the present health condition of MP Amanur with Professor Tapan Saha. He told me that the MP needs a surgery. However, it may be done later,” said DMCH Director Brig Gen Mizanur Rahman.
On February 8, Amanur was admitted at DMCH under Urology department. Since then he was staying at an air-conditioned cabin.
Earlier yesterday, yaba baron Amin Huda and once a top criminal Tofail Ahmed Joseph were shifted to jail following newspaper reports on their staying in city hospitals for more than one and a half years on the pretext of receiving treatment.
