2 teachers among 3 dead in Mymensingh road crash
Three people including a teacher couple were killed and three others injured as a truck hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Muktagachha upazila of Mymensingh this morning.
The deceased are Mamunur Rashid, 40, headmaster of Polashtoli Govt Primary School in Melandah upazila, his wife Mukta Begum, 35, teacher of the same school and Khairul Islam Bachchu, 45, of Munshiganj district.
The CNG-run auto-rickshaw carrying passengers was heading for Mymensingh when a truck collided head on at Kuripara area in the upazila around 7:00am, our local correspondent reports quoting police.
Md Mahbubul Haque, officer-in-charge of Muktagacha Police Station, said that the auto-rickshaw skidded off the road and fell into a roadside ditch after it was hit by the truck.
Of the passengers, Rashid, Mukta and Bachchu died on the spot and three others were injured, the OC added.
On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies.
The injured were admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
