BSF kills Bangladeshi in Kurigram
Indian Border Security Force (BSF) members gunned down a Bangladeshi cattle trader inside the Indian territory opposite to Roumari border in Kurigram early today.
Deceased Nurul Amin, 32, was son of Moksed Ali Munshi of Khetarchar village in Datbhanga union of the upazila, reports our Kurigram correspondent quoting BGB and police.
A patrol team of BSF troops of Deepchar camp in Dhupri district of the Indian state of Assam opened fire on Nurul Amin around 4:00am when he entered the Indian territory to bring cattle, Abdul Aziz, company commander of local BGB, told The Daily Star.
The victim managed to flee the scene after he suffered bullet wounds. Nurul Amin succumbed to his injuries at his residence, the BGB official said.
Confirming the incident, Mohhamad Ruhani, inspector (investigation) of Roumari Police Station, in the morning said a team of police was on the way to Nurul Amin's house.
The BGB officials called upon BSF for a company-level flag meeting protesting the killing, the BGB official added.
