Man killed in Bagerhat

A man was stabbed dead by miscreants at his house in Rampal upazila of Bagerhat today.

The deceased was identified as Lahu Sheikh, 35, son of Mohsin Sheikh of Purba Vaga village, our local correspondent reports.

Lahu’s mother Rumana Begum found him groaning in his room around 12:00am today with his throat slit, said Md Lutfar Rahman, officer-in-charge of Rampal Police Station.

The victim was rushed to Rampal Upazila Health Complex and then shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead at 11:00 am, the police official said.

Presumably, enmity over land dispute could be a reason behind the killing, the OC also said.

The body has been kept at Khulna Medical College Hospital for autopsy, he added.
