'Gadar 2' surpasses SRK's 'Pathaan' in box office
Sunny Deol's latest film, "Gadar 2", has made waves at the Indian box office, surpassing Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan". The sequel has become the fastest film to cross the remarkable Rs 500 crore mark in just 24 days.
"Pathaan" took a total of 28 days to reach the same milestone, lagging "Gadar 2" by a significant four-day margin. Even the Hindi version of the immensely popular "Baahubali 2" required 34 days to achieve this feat in the domestic market.
These reports surfaced following a recent encounter between the two lead actors at the success celebration of "Gadar 2". Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan were spotted embracing each other, signalling a heartwarming reunion after a much-publicised feud that had emerged following the release of "Darr" in the '90s.
"Gadar 2", the sequel of "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha", revolves around Tara Singh's journey to Pakistan to rescue his son. The film tugged at the heartstrings of audiences by narrating a story of love, sacrifice, and nationalism. Alongside Sunny Deol, the movie featured Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma, amongst others, contributing to its huge success.
On the other hand, "Pathaan", starring Shah Rukh Khan in the titular role, is an integral part of Yash Raj Films' spy universe. The film marked Shah Rukh Khan's return to the silver screen after a four-year hiatus.
