After wrapping up production in 2022, the much-anticipated film "Beeldakini" is finally set to hit theatres this January. Despite several announcements of release dates in the past, the film will officially be released nationwide on January 24.

Based on the novel "Beeldakini" by renowned author Nuruddin Jahangir, the film was directed by Fazlul Tuhin. It tells a powerful story of female strength and the liberation of motherhood. The film stars Mosharraf Karim and West Bengal actress Parno Mittra in the lead roles. This is Parno Mittra's second film in Bangladesh, following her appearance in Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's "Doob".

In "Beeldakini", Mosharraf Karim plays the role of Manik Majhi, the son of a Baul (folk singer), whose father was murdered by religious extremists. Raised under the protection of a writer, Manik finds himself imprisoned after the writer is killed.

Parno Mittra plays Hanufa, the main character of the story. Her husband is falsely imprisoned by the local chairman, who later assaults Hanufa. As she becomes pregnant, society ostracises her, but Manik Majhi stands by her side.

Mosharraf Karim made a unique contribution to the film by lending his voice to one of the film's songs titled "Ja Dekhi Tar Shob-e Bhalo" (Everything I See is Beautiful), which he wrote and composed. The song's music was directed by Ashraf Babu.

Regarding the film, director Fazlul Tuhin shared, "'Beeldakini' captures the suffocating struggles of people in distress, portraying their suffering and the complex nature of relationships. Today, land grabbers still exploit the vulnerable, women are still victims of abuse, and the cries of helpless people echo all around. Yet, despite this uneven world, people dream of love and hope. 'Beeldakini' will confront the audience with these harsh realities."

There's a notable coincidence with 'Beeldakini' and the month of January. Although the film received its government grant during the 2019-2020 FY, production began in January 2022. It passed the censor board in January last year and will now be released in January of this year.

Commenting on the delayed release, Tuhin explained, "We had set several release dates before, but for various reasons, it didn't happen. Finally, this January, the film is set to be screened for audiences."

Alongside Mosharraf Karim and Parno Mittra, the film features performances from Gazi Rakayet, Lutfor Rahman George, Saberi Alam, Manoj Pramanik, and others.

In addition to government funding, the film's co-producers include Data Solution.
