'Priyotoma' earns BDT 10 crore in a week, 'Shurongo' second at BDT 2.5 crore

Eid releases this year have been a breath of fresh air for the industry, from small screen regulars debuting on the big screen to reviving cinema halls, Dhallywood has been turning a new leaf. Similarly,  among Eid releases this Eid-ul-Azha, " Priyotoma" has amassed the largest earnings, with "Shurongo" following closely behind.

 

In a week, " Priyotoma" has earned around BDT 10 crore, while "Shurongo" broke "Poran's" record with earning around BDT 2.5 crores.

Yesterday, the directors of the two films respectively shared the information on their social media page.

Captioning a photo, Himel Ashraf, "Priyotoma" director informed that the film which had been released in only 107 halls on Eid, had to increase more than 3150 shows in these halls due to audience demands. Adding, they've sold tickets worth more than BDT 10 crore 30 lakhs among the surmounting crowds.

On the other hand, Raihan Rafi informed that "Shurongo" had sold tickets worth almost more than BDT 2.5 lakhs at multiplexes. The director also mentioned breaking his own film "Poran's" record. He then expressed his gratitude to the fans and viewers for the achievement. 

Directed by Himel Ashraf, "Priyotoma" stars Shakib Khan and Idhika Paul in lead roles, spinning a tale of romance and adventure. "Shurongo" on the other hand tells the tale of mystique and deep secrets, casting Afran Nisho and Tama Mirza in the lead roles. This marks the former's debut on the big screen, directed by Raihan Rafi.
